Connect a CCTV camera to a mobile phone (remote viewing)?
Remote viewing is a quintessential feature in modern security camera systems. With remote viewing, you can view your security cameras on your laptop or smartphone while at work, on vacation, or virtually anywhere with internet access. The peace-of-mind that this feature brings is well worth the extra investment in buying security cameras that are remote viewing ready.
Use a reliable mobile device that has the right features to watch a good video.
To be sure that the received video will always have very good quality, we must have powerful and reliable equipment. With regard to tablets, we can mention the iPad Air 2, the Samsung Galaxy Tab, among others. Obviously, other brands and models can be used without problems, it’s just that here we mention some that provide a very good experience when viewing the IP video. Something that’s also very important is to have a reliable mobile phone provider, with affordable and high-speed data plans. T-Mobile is a good example, thanks to its data plans and unlimited streaming.
Verify that your video streaming equipment has an app available in the app stores, whether it’s the Apple App Store or the Android Play Store.
Whether you have or think about acquiring a recording equipment such as a DVR or NVR, or in case you do not want to make a recording but only live transmission with an IP camera, it’s important that any of those equipment have an application inside of the app stores. To know, you can review the packaging and manuals of the equipment and identify the icons of the application stores.
Download the respective application on your phone or tablet.
Remember that you must have the free space available to download the respective application mentioned above. We recommend that you decide on 64GB or 128GB formats for proper operation of these applications.
Configure the connection data within the application.
This is where you must enter the connection parameters that the IP video equipment has previously configured (whether it is an IP camera, a DVR or an NVR), such as, for example, the public IP address of the video equipment, its port of connection, username and password, are usually the usual parameters. However, it’s possible that depending on each App you will be asked for additional information.
Verify the availability of access to the video from the Internet.
Remember that in order for you to have access from your mobile device, be it a cell phone or a tablet, your IP video equipment must be connected to the Internet with a public IP address. Nowadays it can be difficult for your Internet provider to provide you with a public IP address in your home or office, in which case you can acquire a Dynamic DNS service (DDNS) such as DynDNS or NoIP, and add it to your computer of IP video transmission (DVR, NVR or IP camera) or even configure it on your router.
